How MoneyKH Rates and Verifies Financial Products
Every score, rate, and comparison on MoneyKH follows the same process — regardless of which institution is being reviewed. This page explains exactly how it works.
Our Independence Commitment
MoneyKH accepts no referral fees, affiliate commissions, or payments from any bank, MFI, insurer, or financial institution to appear in — or rank higher in — any MoneyKH comparison or review. Our platform is funded by display advertising only. Advertisers have zero influence over any editorial content, ranking, or data we publish. This is structurally enforced: MoneyKH has no affiliate partnerships.
How We Verify Financial Data
Bank Rates and Fees
All bank rates — savings, fixed deposit, loan, and remittance fees — are verified directly from official bank websites. We access the primary source (the rate table, product page, or tariff schedule published by the institution) and record the rate, the date of verification, and the URL. We do not accept rates provided directly by banks without independent corroboration from their public website.
When a bank publishes different rates in different places — a common issue in Cambodia — we note the discrepancy and use the publicly accessible rate table as the verified figure. We do not publish below-the-line rates available only to specific customers.
Gold Prices
Daily Cambodia gold prices are calculated from the international gold spot price (sourced from JM Bullion, cross-checked against gold market data), converted to USD per gram, then to USD per Chi (1 Chi = 3.75 grams). KHR prices use the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) official daily exchange rate. Both the spot price source and NBC rate used are noted in each published price.
Exchange Rates
The NBC official daily exchange rate published on nbc.org.kh is our reference for all USD/KHR conversions. We do not use commercial bank rates as the reference standard.
Legal and Regulatory Information
Legal and regulatory information is sourced from official government publications, NBC announcements, and official legal texts. For complex legal questions, we recommend consulting a licensed Cambodian lawyer.

Our Five Rating Criteria
Every bank, wallet, MFI, and insurer on MoneyKH is scored on five criteria (1–5 each). Maximum raw score: 25. Published score = raw total ÷ 2.5, displayed out of 10.
Is this institution properly licensed and in good standing with NBC or FSA?
Do advertised rates match what a real customer actually receives?
Are all fees disclosed clearly before account opening?
Can an ordinary Cambodian (salaried $400/month, valid ID) open and use this product?
Can a customer get a clear, accurate answer to a finance question in under 15 minutes?
Raw score = Criterion 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 (max 25)
Published score = Raw ÷ 2.5 (max 10.0)
Example: ABA Bank — scores of 5 + 4 + 4 + 5 + 4 = 22 raw → 8.8 / 10 published
What Ratings Are Not Based On
- Advertising spend with MoneyKH
- Whether the institution has responded to our outreach
- Any commercial relationship between MoneyKH and the institution
- Social media following, brand size, or market share
- Reader popularity votes
- Affiliate commission rates — MoneyKH has no affiliate arrangements

Every rating shows a Last verified date. Ratings more than 90 days old display a “Pending update” notice.
Affiliate Links Policy
Some comparison tables include a convenience link to an institution’s own website. These links are never paid placements, never ranked by commission rate, always placed below the independent rating (never in place of it), and clearly labelled as external links. MoneyKH earns no revenue from affiliate referrals. If this policy changes, it will be disclosed prominently on this page.

If you believe a MoneyKH rating or data point is incorrect, please contact us via our contact page. Rate corrections are prioritised and typically published within 24 hours of verification. Our independence is our only product — accuracy is non-negotiable.
